Shaykh Uthmฤn Ibn Sulaymฤn Murฤd continued in the next line with explanation of Lahn Khafiyy, he said:
ุฃู ููุง ุงูุฎููููู ููุฎูุทุฃู ูู ุงูุนูุฑูู ... ู ู ุบูุฑู ุฅูุฎูุงูู ููุชูุฑููู ุงูููุตููู
As for the Khafiyy, it's an error in the Urf (conventional way of recitation) ... That doesn't alter the meaning, like leaving a characteristic (of the letter)
So, the Lahn Khafiyy doesn't alter the meaning and these are mistakes like, omitting Ikhfฤ, Qalqalah, excessive or deficient ghunnah measure, inconsistent Madd (other than the natural Madd) counts etc..
ูุง ููุนุฑููู ุงูุฎูููู ุณููู ุงูู ูุฌููููุฏู ... ูููุนูุฑููู ุงูุฌูููููู ูููู ูุงุญุฏู
The Khafiyy is only recognized by an expert (in Tajwฤซd)... While everyone recognizes the Jaliyy
So, these errors are not easily detected by everyone, only those who are experts in the science can easily detect these errors.
WHAT IS THE RULING ON BOTH?
ุตููุงูุฉู ุงูููููุธู ุนูู ุงูุฌูููููู ... ูุฏูุนููููู ุจุงููุงุฌุจู ุงูุดุฑุนููู
ูุตููููููู ุนู ุงูุฎููููู ุงูู ูุดุงุนู ... ููุฏูุนููููููู ุจุงููุงุฌุจู ุงูุตูููุงุนููู
Safeguarding the word from the Jaliyy... they refer to it as a Shar'ฤซ obligation
And safeguarding it (the word) from the Khafiyy... they refer to it as a professional obligation
Talking about the rulings on both he said:
Safeguarding one's tongue from Lahn Jaliyy is obligatory in the Sharฤซ'ah.
This is because Lahn Jaliyy alters the meaning of the ฤyฤt, hence presenting a different meaning other than what Allฤh has revealed
As for Lahn Khafiyy, it's not obligatory as to the Sharฤซ'ah to avoid it, but highly desirable and a means to achieve excellence in the recitation of the Qur'ฤn.
Rather, this is a professional obligation to avoid Lahn Khafiyy as well. Absence of Lahn Khafiyy shows one's mastery of the recitation of the Qur'ฤn.
